Ruth Roman was born on June 22nd, 1939, at Lynn Massachusetts. She is the youngest child of Lithuanian Jewish parents Mary Pauline Gold & Abraham Roman. When she was young the carnival barker father passed away which left Ruth's mother no option but to work as a cleaning girl and waitress to feed the family. Ruth lived in the poor tenement district in Boston, Massachusetts, where she went to school. But she only stayed in school for two years before going on to pursue an acting profession. The path she chose was filled with difficulties. When she was offered a job as a model in New York as a model for a magazine that dealt with detectives, she found it difficult to secure work on stage. Following a short stint as a club hat girl and a club hat girl, she made the decision to go home to the United States and quit her position. In Boston, where she worked during the late night, she was an actor for New England Repertory Company and during the day, was an usherette. She received a master's degree in drama from Bishop-Lee Theatre School.
